It’s Mano Amiga's 7 Year Anniversary!

meet us at Ivar's River Pub, 701 Cheatham St

Over the last seven years, Mano Amiga has achieved monumental wins in the pursuit of creating a more just legal system in central Texas. Passing the first and only Cite & Release Ordinance in the state, decriminalizing marijuana, establishing a Public Defender Office in Hays County, and repealing the police contract that provides special protections for dangerous cops are just a handful of the groundbreaking wins our team has achieved during our brief time of existence.

Join us on Thursday, March 21st, at Ivar's River Pub to help us celebrate the movement we are building in Hays County! During this celebration, you will learn more about our efforts to advocate for meaningful systemic change to our legal system, as well as the path that lies ahead. There will be free fajitas and a bar where guests may purchase drinks.

We are encouraging attendees to

Promoting real change through progressive policy reforms in central Texas counties.

Our History

In response to ICE Raids in Hays County, Mano Amiga formed out of a need to organize and campaign against the detainment and deportation of undocumented people in the US. Today, we have expanded our goals to advocate for criminal justice policy reform in Hays County.

Educating the community on issues that affect us all.

Our advocacy efforts include educating the community on current issues, through gathering and sharing data, as well as providing access to resources and services, and developing directly-impacted community members into leaders.
